Year 2 SATs – May 2017

What a busy half term we had in Year 2! The children have now completed their SATs assessments and we are all so proud of how all the children did during these last few weeks. All of the children tried their very best and that’s all we can ask for!

Upcoming events

We have an extremely busy half term coming up in Year 2. The children are already busy working on our products to make and sell at our craft sale on Thursday 29thJune at 2pm in the school hall. You will be able to buy a range of items made by the children to raise money. The children will decide what the money will be spent on and this topic hopes to bring out the entrepreneurial side of them! Last year’s event was hugely successful, so we look forward to seeing you there!

We also have a Year 2 Graduation Ceremony which will be held on Wednesday 19thJune at 10.45am in the school hall. This will be a real opportunity to celebrate the children’s achievements this year and prepare them for beginning Key Stage 2 in September. Please do come and support the children and share in the year’s achievements.

Thank you!

Thank you for all your continued support, it really makes a world of difference.

Wow what a brilliant start to year 2. All the children have settled really well into their new class and have been fantastic at getting to know all their new friends. I have been so impressed with the children’s can do attitude, for example they are already saying “I can’t do it YET!” Well done for all of the dojo points you have been earning and the independence they are showing in their learning.

Mrs Horne, Mrs McCormack and Mrs Wotton have really enjoyed getting to know the new class and are all looking forward to an exciting, inspiring and fun half term!

Parents/carers please remember to make sure that your child has a named water bottle in school, a full school PE kit (named) and their reading book and purple reading log every day. This really does help the smooth running of the day and enables us to achieve the best from your child.

You should have received our Year 2 newsletter and Home Learning letter which gives important information that you need to know. If you have not received these letters, they are attached on this page.

Mrs Horne, Mrs McCormack or Mrs Wooten are always happy to discuss any concerns or questions you might have on the door in the morning. If you need a slightly longer discussion, Mrs Horne is available for appointments after school. These can be made via the school office.

Thank you for all your support, it really makes such a huge difference!
