Our topic this term in Y4 is all about CHOCOLATE, which is a DT and enterprise based topic. We have already been busy tasting and evaluating different types of chocolate! It was so much fun and very delicious!

 Look out for the Home Learning Project letter in your child’s book bag. It is going to be another interesting and yummy topic for Ruby class.

  • Wednesday 5th April - Depart for London 8:30am – earlier start!
  • Friday 7th April – return from London 1pm.

Castlepoint Library Visit

On Thursday 2nd February Ruby class visited the local library at Castlepoint. It was a great opportunity to see all of the amazing books they have to offer! See the photos here.

Road To Rio

What an experience Rubies had during our Road to Rio day! Th children got to try rowing, handball, cycling, archery and even a game of fencing! The children worked really well as a team and worked really hard at all the new sports. It was great to have a feel what it is like to be an Olympian. Take a look here.

European Food Tasting

What an exciting afternoon in Rubies (07.10.16)! We had a trip around Europe tasting a variety of food from different European countries. It was very exciting and we all challenged ourselves to try something new! Take a look here.

Science Week

Wow! What a brilliant week at Jewell (W.C 17.10.16)! During our first Science week,  we had a visit from the exciting Science boffins, we did a range of Science experiments everyday and we have learnt lots of new Scientific vocabulary. Take a look here.

Stone Age Day

What a yabba dabba do of a Monday in Rubies! Monday 28th November was Ruby class's Stone Age Day. The children's costumes were amazing and we had great fun creating jewellery, hunting in the Forest School and even created our own Stone Age village!  It was a great day! Take a look here.

Hope you all had a great Summer and ready for another amazing year at Jewell. I am extremely proud of the way the children have come back and settled into life in Year 4.

We have already been building spaghetti and marshmallow towers, writing our aspirations, getting to know each other and preparing for a year of fun and hard work.

Finally, there will be a ‘Welcome to Y4’ Parent meeting on Thursday 15th September for ALL parents. A letter will be handed out shortly with the details.
