Safeguarding, E-Safety & Pupil Welfare

Jewell Academy takes the welfare and safety of our pupils very seriously, working hard to reduce all the kinds of harm that children can suffer, including abuse, bullying, discrimination and avoidable injuries. We strive to make sure that every pupil in the Academy feels secure, well cared for, and able to reach their full potential.

Jewell Academy understands, and is committed to the vital contribution that all governors, staff, parents and pupils can make to safeguarding children. All our staff are regularly and thoroughly trained in identifying, dealing with and reporting any safeguarding concerns.

Working together

We will continue to ensure that all our staff, parents or carers and pupils work together to know the rules about keeping children safe. They will understand the importance of following procedures and listening to each other, especially when there are concerns about safety.

Pupil Welfare

Jewell Academy has a range of policies and procedures in place that ensure the welfare of all of our pupils.

Several of these policies set out expectations about behaviour. This includes good learning behaviour around the Academy and in lessons as well as rules about how to communicate and behave appropriately towards other pupils and staff. This ensures everyone feels safe and can learn.
